Experience prior to JRS
Dean graduated from Loughborough University in 1983 with a first class honours Engineering Degree. He worked in project and quality engineering for some ten years then moved into ISO 9000 quality management consultancy. In 1993 he joined the (then) Legal Aid Board and played a pivotal role as a Liaison Manager facilitating the successful rollout of the LAB Franchising scheme. Dean was involved in auditing of law firms in addition to delivering training to the profession on how to achieve the quality standards.
JRS experience
On joining JRS, Dean developed our Lexcel services from a zero base. Quality system design is one of Dean’s strengths and he is charged with the development and maintenance of our quality system documentation including manuals, forms, terms of business etc.
As an accredited Lexcel Consultant, Dean is our Lexcel lead and has steered a huge number of large and small firms through to successful accreditation including a major corporation in Dubai.
Dean is also an expert in SRA compliance and how firms’ compliance officers can best meet the SRA codes of conduct. Over the years, he has acquired a huge amount of knowledge about AML and Sanctions regulations and has successfully assisted large numbers of our clients through intensive SRA audits. Dean also delivers extensive training to clients on all aspects of compliance from GDPR through to AML and COLP/COFA compliance.
Outside of JRS
Dean is a very keen cyclist, cycling all year round. He also has a passion for photography, birdwatching and playing the guitar (badly). His biggest interest, however, is motorcycling with an increasing fleet of motorbikes in the garage.
